Ocarine®
Flank
Protocol

The flanks are one of the most challenging areas to treat in body contouring due to their tendency to accumulate fat and the resistance of this tissue to traditional methods such as diet or exercise. This lateral torso area, commonly known as “love handles,” requires a specific approach that considers not only its unique anatomy but also its proximity to vital organs such as the kidneys.

Protocolo en Flancos Ocarine®

With Ocarine®, a specific and tailored protocol is applied to safely target the flanks. The client is positioned on their side, and the area is divided into 10×10 cm quadrants to apply thermodynamic energy where it is needed most. Our technology works directly on this stubborn fat that is so difficult to remove.

This protocol, with a maximum duration of 40 minutes to avoid overstressing the organs responsible for blood filtration, is specially designed for the flanks—one of the most demanded treatment areas in aesthetic centers.

Step-by-Step flank protocol

Técnica de aplicación en Flancos Ocarine®

1.- Initial Setup

  • Select “Flanks” option.

  • Apply lumbar protocol at level 2.

  • Determine time according to quadrants (maximum 40 minutes).

  • Choose a progressive initial intensity.

2.- Area Preparation

  • Position the client on their side in a stable posture.

  • Mark areas with the greatest fat accumulation.

  • Divide the area into 10×10 cm quadrants.

  • Apply a specific conductive cream.

3.- Treatment Application

  • Press the start button to begin.

  • Duration: 10 minutes per quadrant.

  • Strict limit: Maximum of 40 minutes total per session.

  • Monitor muscle insertions during application.

Application technique

Movements

  • Slow, continuous movements in circles or figure-eight shapes.

  • Exactly 10 minutes per quadrant.

  • Never stop the movement (prevents overheating).

  • Focus energy on areas with the most fat accumulation.

Objectives

  • Keep a controlled elevated temperature.

  • Pay special attention to muscle insertions.

  • Avoid discomfort due to proximity to sensitive structures.

  • Respect time limits to protect filtering organs.

Ocarine® Deep System:
Perfect synergy for flanks

To maximize treatment effectiveness on flanks, two conductive creams are used, specifically formulated to work in synergy with the thermodynamic effect.

LipoDeep – Body Cream A de Ocarine

LipoDeep – Body Cream A

Especially recommended for the lipolytic phase in flanks with significant fat deposits. Its Fucus Vesiculosus extract stimulates local microcirculation and promotes toxin elimination—crucial in this area due to its tendency to retain fluids.

Recommended for the first phase of treatment, working with continuous movements to avoid overheating. Mandatory drainage the same day, followed by two weekly drainage sessions.

FirmDeep – Body Cream B de Ocarine

FirmDeep – Body Cream B

Used in the final phase of treatment when the goal is to firm the lateral contour. Its active ingredient, Echinacea Angustifolia, stimulates collagen synthesis while concentrating thermal effect in superficial layers—ideal for tightening skin in this area prone to sagging.

Particularly effective on flanks with less fat volume where the goal is to define the waistline and improve lateral torso contour.

Flanks or “love handles” contain fibrotic fat that is particularly resistant to conventional treatments such as diet or exercise. This lateral torso area accumulates dense, compact adipocytes and is located close to vital organs like the kidneys—requiring a protocol with strict time limits and precise technique.

The flanks are located directly over the kidneys—organs responsible for filtering the toxins mobilized during treatment. Exceeding 40 minutes could overload kidney function. This limit must never be exceeded, regardless of the treatment volume.

We recommend following these four steps before starting:

  1. Keep a stable lateral position at all times.
  2. Place a pillow between the knees to stabilize the pelvis.
  3. Extend the upper arm forward to fully expose the flank.

Mark the upper limit (floating rib) and lower limit (iliac crest) with a dermographic pencil before starting.

Palpate and mark the areas with the most fat accumulation—generally 2–3 distinct “pockets.” The most resistant area is usually just above the iliac crest.

Also identify and mark the oblique muscle insertions where pressure should be reduced.

In a treatment, you must distinguish between the two areas:

  • Anterior flanks (towards the abdomen): possible intensity 3-4, wide circular movements.
  • Posterior flanks (towards the back): maximum intensity 2-3, gentler movements, constant monitoring the kidney area.

The transition between both zones should be gradual, never abrupt.

Due to toxin mobilization near filtering organs, it is recommended to:

  • Drink 500 ml of water immediately after the session.
  • Drink at least 3 liters of water in the following 24 hours.
  • Completely avoid alcohol for the next 48 hours (prevents kidney overload).
  • Gentle lymphatic drainage towards the inguinals the same day.
  • Monitor urine: if dark or scarce, increase hydration.

Relative rest for 12 hours (avoid intense exercise).
