In this article, we cover:

  • Cellulite in the legs and buttocks is not caused by fat alone: fluid retention, fibrosis, and slower drainage also play a role, which is why diet and exercise do not always fully improve it.

  • Ocarine® works in a combined way using controlled heat, mechanical pressure, and oscillating movement to help improve skin texture, contour, and firmness in the same session.

  • With a well-structured protocol (4–6 sessions), progress tracking (photos/measurements), and supportive habits, many clinics report visible skin improvement and better contour definition.

Cellulite affects more than 90% of women after puberty. The issue is that it isn’t just accumulated fat; if it were, diet and exercise would be enough. Cellulite is more complex: it’s a mix of swelling, tissue hardening, and altered microcirculation.

Ocarine® is much more than a device to reduce cellulite, capable of addressing the 3 problems that cause it at the same time. It combines deep heat, mechanical pressure, and synchronized movement to fragment fat, drain swelling, and firm the skin.

Centers that apply our protocol state that there are visible changes in 4 to 6 sessions when the recommended guideline is followed. If you want to know how it works, stay and keep reading.

How does cellulite work? Understanding it is vital to know how Ocarine® acts

Cellulite is not just “fat”: it is a multifactorial condition in which several processes occur at the same time beneath the skin. That’s why diet and exercise can sometimes help, but they do not always fully remove the “orange peel” appearance. As mentioned earlier, 3 factors are usually involved:

  • Swelling (Edema): more fluid accumulates in the area than is eliminated. This causes swelling, a feeling of “heaviness,” and makes the irregularities more noticeable on the skin’s surface.

  • Hardening (Fibrosis): over time, the supporting tissue beneath the skin can become more rigid. When fat in that area increases in volume, the areas between the connective tissue bands become more noticeable because they do not expand evenly. This contributes to the typical “orange peel” appearance.

  • Slower microcirculation and drainage: in areas such as thighs and buttocks, local circulation and lymphatic drainage may be less efficient. Result: more fluids accumulate and are eliminated less effectively, and the tissue tends to remain more “congested.”

In addition, hormonal changes (especially those related to estrogen) can make cellulite more common on legs and buttocks, particularly in women.

That’s why when only fat is treated, results are often limited. What works best is an approach that acts on all 3 fronts:

  • Reduce fat: fragments adipose deposits.

  • Drain swelling: evacuates accumulated fluid.

  • Firm the skin: stimulates the synthesis of new collagen to restore its natural elasticity.

How does Ocarine®’s thermodynamic technology work?

Ocarine® combines 3 energies that act in sync on the tissue being treated:

Controlled heat Mechanical pressure Oscillatory movement
Activates lipolytic processes in the adipose cell and prepares the tissue to work on volume; in addition, it supports firmness by stimulating collagen formation. A deep, precise massage that helps decompact the tissue, improve local microcirculation, and smooth the appearance of the skin. Distributes energy evenly across the entire area to treat consistently and also support drainage and a more even finish.

When these 3 actions are combined in the same session, the result is more complete: smoother texture, a sensation of lightness, and skin with better tone.

Ocarine® protocols by area and cellulite type

Before indicating the protocol, you must identify the type of cellulite (an ultrasound can be used to measure thickness and fat type), since not all types respond the same way to treatment:

  • Soft cellulite (edematous): looks swollen. Drainage is more efficient because once Ocarine® stimulates the lymphatic system, the swelling responds faster. Improvement is evident in 4 sessions.

  • Hardened (fibrous) cellulite: it is more compact and usually requires more work, so it normally needs 6 to 8 sessions. Even so, it is often where progress is most noticeable, because Ocarine® helps break down fat, improve drainage, and activate local circulation.

Take photos in the same position and lighting before starting. Measure circumferences on thighs and buttocks. These will be your objective reference when the client compares results over the weeks.

Ocarine® protocol to reduce cellulite on the buttocks

The buttocks have a large adipose volume and fibrosis. The protocol divides treatment into 3 areas:

Area Time Ocarine® action
Center of the buttock 10-15 min Fragments fat and activates the massage
Lateral 10-15 min Firms the skin and improves texture
Lower buttock/thigh 10-15 min Reduces “orange-peel skin”

How is it applied?

  • Circular or “figure 8” movements, slow and continuous. It’s important to use this oscillating pattern.

  • Avoid abrupt movements. They cause discomfort and risk overheating the area.

  • The headpiece must maintain continuous contact with the skin, without interruptions.

  • Direction should be toward the groin (where the lymphatic system naturally drains). This optimizes the drainage effect generated by Ocarine®.

The device automatically adjusts power and frequency according to the area.

Ocarine® protocol to reduce cellulite on the legs

On the legs, cellulite is more resistant. For treatment purposes, there are 2 layers of fat: a superficial one and a deeper one. Ocarine® penetrates both.

Area Time Ocarine® action
Front thigh 10-15 min Fragments superficial fat
Outer thigh 10-15 min Acts on deeper fat
Back thigh 10-15 min Reduces fat and improves texture
Calf (optional) 5-10 min Toning

How is it applied?

  • Place the client in a side-lying position or prone position.

  • Divide each area into 10×10 cm quadrants. Spend 10 minutes on each quadrant.

  • Apply in circular movements, with moderate, constant pressure. Mechanical pressure is what fragments the hardening.

  • Direction should always be toward the groin to optimize drainage.

You should never exceed 40 minutes per session (buttocks + legs), as Ocarine® has been designed to be safe under these parameters and it’s important to respect them.

Treatment structure with Ocarine®: sessions and schedule

The standard protocol is 4 to 6 Ocarine® sessions spaced 7 to 14 days apart.

  • Mild cellulite (Grade I): 4 sessions are usually enough.

  • Moderate–severe cellulite (Grade II–III): 6 to 8 sessions.

Progress across sessions is as follows:

  • Sessions 1–2: texture improves and the client notices a reduction in edema.

  • Sessions 3–4: circumference is noticeably reduced and orange-peel skin begins to soften.

  • Sessions 5–6: changes consolidate, texture improves, and elasticity is recovered.

A detail worth knowing

Even after you finish the sessions, the body continues working during the following days. That’s why it’s normal for improvement to continue for up to 2–3 weeks after the last visit.

What results are usually targeted?

More than “losing kilos,” the goal is to improve texture and contour. In many cases, a reduction in centimeters on the thighs is observed after completing the protocol, and the most valued improvement is often that the skin looks smoother and more uniform.

How far apart should Ocarine® sessions be?

The most effective schedule is to have one session every 2 weeks. This keeps the treatment continuous, and the changes build up from one session to the next.

If more than 3 weeks pass between sessions, progress may be interrupted and part of the treatment’s cumulative effect may be lost. In addition, if it is not supported by appropriate habits, fluid retention may reappear and part of the area’s volume may return, which means results tend to progress more slowly.

How are results consolidated and what should be done after each session?

The first 48 hours post-session are critical to optimize results.

  • Hydration: recommend drinking more than usual (approx. 2 liters, or a bit more if the person already drinks a lot). It helps the body eliminate fluids and prevents the area from feeling “loaded.”

  • Movement: something simple is best: walking 20–30 minutes or staying lightly active. Movement supports natural drainage and often relieves the sensation of heavy legs.

Avoid for 48 hours:

  • Alcohol (interferes with drainage).

  • Very fatty foods (the liver is already metabolizing fatty acids).

  • Extreme heat (saunas and long baths with very hot water).

  • Intense exercise (wait 48 to 72 hours).

Mistakes that can cause the treatment to fail

  • Not taking photos and measurements from the start

    • If there’s no “before,” it’s easy for the person to think nothing has changed, even if it has.
    • Simple works: photos with the same light/position and measurements of thigh and buttock circumference.
  • Selling it as weight loss

    • Ocarine® does not reduce body weight. It reduces contour, adipose volume, and improves texture. If this isn’t clarified, it can create false expectations.

How to implement Ocarine® in your center

If the goal is client retention, differentiating yourself as a professional, and offering a strong cellulite treatment for legs and buttocks, the Ocarine® protocol is effective.

The operational structure should always be:

  • Initial diagnosis + 6 Ocarine® sessions + integrated pressotherapy in each session.

  • Photo documentation and circumference measurements from session 1.

  • Communication of realistic effects: 3 to 4 cm reduction in circumference, with better evolution 3 weeks after the last session.

  • Packaged offer: 6 sessions with pressotherapy included.

Centers that implement this protocol have a high success rate. Clients complete the program because they see clear changes from the beginning.

When the treatment is presented this way, the client understands the process, sees progress more clearly, and it’s easier for them to complete the plan.
